CUS Y7: Parts 1-3
Intro:
In the Library sits a person somewhere between childhood and adulthood. They have dozed off, a small creature at their feet with the pages of a book in it's mouth, and a warm cup of tea cooling off next to them on the desk. This nap is not going to continue to be a peaceful one, though, as the Library has a job for them.A book slams shut nearby, with no one around to have been accused of the noise. Hawthorne starts, jumping hard enough to wake the bunny dustball creature and send it scurrying away. They look down at the desk, and see a folder. It seems the Library has a new job for their new friends.
Part 1:
Hawthorne rushes to gather all of you around, a large grin on their face. They nod when they've noted everyone has entered the large center room of the Library and present the note the Library has left for them.
"Well, new employees! It seems that there is a task for you. The Library has noticed that many of its esteemed patrons have become...well, dumber. They are no longer turning to the Library's vast ocean of knowledge and are turning to something else- except, the something else is...not accurate. And seems to be doing something to their brains." Hawthorne pauses, taking a moment to adjust, their confidence waning in the way that teens often experience.
"Right, so, I can't leave the Library. And Ariadne and Strawberry Bot will be staying here with me because, I guess, they prefer to stay at some headquarters instead of being the boots on the ground, so to speak."
Narrator scoffs at this.
"So, we have a list of patrons, and you all will need to go- with Narrator, of course- to find them and find out what in the world is going on with their intelligence." Hawthorne grins, their job mostly completed. Narrator rolls her eyes, and stands, ready to take her role.
Read a book you put on your TBR because you saw it in a store or library.
Part 2:
Well peasants, er...employees...it seems we have another mission. The Library pays me better than any of our previous employers, so I suppose you're stuck with me. For now, anyway. I may retire, and then I'll never have to hear about your idiot book collections ever again. Anyway, Hawthorne has left us with a list of some patrons we must go visit. They are all rather well off, but, stupid. Apparently. This is a new development, but I bet they were always a little weak minded, you know? Whatever, pack your bags, you know the drill. Hope you don't bring anything too heavy.
Read a book you'd take on vacation.
Part 3:
Alright, everyone packed? Get in the ship. Don't waste my time, let's get going. Our first stop is someone who is apparently a Prince, named Arthur. We will get there, find out what's going on, and hopefully we can get away with just making one stop. Quick and efficient. Something I know, frankly, none of you are good at.
Read what you think will be a quick read.
